It ain’t always pretty…

This Yoga stuff is hard work. And it’s definitely not glamorous. I’m reminded daily as a practitioner and instructor just how mentally and physically confronting what we are doing can be. The inner battles we all wage; the struggles just to stay consistent, let alone sincere. The sometimes monumental effort to simply show up and get on the mat; how easily enthusiasm can turn into frustration.

But if it were easy, where would the benefit come from? How can we expect to evolve and grow without challenge? What can we expect without commitment? Nothing. That’s just how life works.

The fruit of this work is largely intrinsic. So here’s the key if you find yourself hesitating: practice for the sake of practice. No expectation, just get on the mat and see what happens. Oh, and breathe.

See you on the mat,

Jeff

Let’s do this!

To further support and encourage you in your efforts on and off your mat, I will be periodically posting my insights and other ramblings related to our Yoga journey together. And you all know I can ramble…

To my new and (old) students, thank you for your trust! I take my relationship with you very seriously and am honored. And like any good relationship based in love, Yoga gives us back much more than we give it. This has been my experience and no doubt that of my most consistent students. Health and wellness do not come in a bottle, they have to be earned, and Yoga is very powerful medicine.

Whether you intend to practice once a month or six times a week, whether you want to be in the best shape of your life or just have fun, just know that every moment on your mat is an opportunity to grow, to heal, to transform. Not just physically, but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Go inside, and go for it! The sweetest fruit comes from the most sincere effort, but you’ll never taste it with out practicing.

So first things first, you gotta show up! If you can manage to be somewhat consistent and courageous with your practice, if you can challenge yourself even a little bit, don’t be surprised when your entire life begins changing for the better. Like 1 + 1 = 2, You + Yoga practice = Health and Happiness.

Rebecca and I are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve you through the amazing practice of Power Yoga. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us.
